Competent and resilient organizations are led by skilled and knowledgeable boards. Working with our partners in the community, ECVO participates in, and coordinates a broad range of capacity building opportunities designed specifically to build strong boards and board members.
ECVO promotes organizational best practices across the nonprofit sector. Our learning opportunities and resources are focused on topics of relevance regardless of an organization’s sub-sector. Current learning opportunities are advertised in our bi-weekly E-Bulletin, in our events calendar and in the Sparesmarts Calendar of Learning Events.
Part of our role at ECVO is to work as a catalyst, promoting the ongoing development of leaders in the nonprofit sector. Currently we are:
ECVO actively participates in partnerships that work for the benefit of the nonprofit sector at the local, provincial and national levels. At the local level we help to build networks and encourage and facilitate partnerships and collaborations.
ECVO helps organizations to build and sustain their volunteer programs and services through resources, networking, and skill development opportunities. We also provide an online meeting place
(www.govolunteer.ca) where organizations and volunteers can connect.
This initiative, now in its’ third year of operation, supports Edmonton’s nonprofit Human Services Sector. ECVO facilitates networks within the sector and helps organizations to explore opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
