2017 STEP Program Now Accepting Applications

The STEP program is back for 2017, with some changes designed to better support students and encourage as many employers as possible to participate. The program is part of the Government of Alberta's "Future Ready" initiative. In 2016, approximately 2,700 students gained valuable work experience working in Alberta with over 1,200 different employers. Nonprofit organizations can receive a wage subsidy of $7 per hour for a minimum of 30 hours per week. STEP positions must be at least four weeks in duration and no more than 16 weeks. Employers may determine the hourly wage they will pay but must pay at least minimum wage. The deadline to apply for 2017 funding is February 24, 2017. Read more

ECVO hosts regular Board to Board Networking sessions so boards can come together to talk about important themes impacting the work of the sector.
