The Occasio Coordinator/Team Leader is a part time position responsible for all aspects relating to the delivery of Autism Edmonton’s Occasio program, which includes: planning, supervision, development, assessment, delivery, monitoring and reporting. The Occasio Coordinator works with a population ripe with potential and is tasked to ensure that the Occasio’s programming offers innovative, meaningful and varied opportunities for youth and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to allow for their increased independence and positive social experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
Development, Coordination, and Delivery of Occasio
·         Provide leadership, ingenuity, and enthusiasm for Autism Edmonton’s Occasio Program
·         Coordinate Autism Edmonton’s Occasio program (development, planning, implementation, delivery, and monitoring). 
·         In the spirit of continuous improvement, and in response to client feedback and input, help design, build and recommend changes to Occasio programming to ensure client needs are recognized and met.
·         Provide supervision through orientation, training, mentorship, and coordination of designated staff and volunteers working within the Occasio program.
·         Support the Manager of Support Services with recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
·         Scheduling and ratio management of staff for each unique Occasio activity.
·         Problem solving and guidance for on activity staff and volunteers to ensure optimal participant benefit, success and social engagement at each activity.
Client Relationship
·         Undertake ongoing and varied methods of communication with clients, ensuring communication goes both ways, in order to assess service gaps, identify needs and establish an effective response for Occasio participants.
Monitoring and Data Management
·         Maintain timely and accurate records of client intake, client payments, participant attendance for invoicing requirements, staff timesheets, and other relevant data to assist with operations and billing.
General Duties and Administration
·         Ensure timely submission of requested/required programs and service reports.
·         Report on program growth and development in regularly scheduled meetings with the Manager of Supports and Services.
·         Ensure accurate records and participant files.
·         Manage cash feed received and program expenditures.
·         Ensure accurate and punctual submission of employee payroll and client billing.
·         Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
·         Diploma or undergraduate degree in a related field; equivalencies will be considered.
·         Experience in program development and implementation an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
·         Professional or personal knowledge of autism and/or a commitment to deepening personal understanding of autism and the challenges and opportunities ASD presents.
·         Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, negotiation, time management, problem-solving, organizational and mediation skills;
·         Comfortable in an advocacy role;
·         Results-oriented and works well within a team environment;
·         Valid CPR/First Aid.  Non Violent Crisis Intervention, Positive Behavior Supports are an asset
·         Supervision experience, mentorship skills and experience working with volunteers are a plus.
·         Proficient with Microsoft Office.
·         This position requires some travelling in the Edmonton area. A reliable vehicle, current insurance coverage (as   well as eligibility for coverage) and a valid driver’s licence are requirements of the job.
·         As this position is at times expected to work some extended hours to meet the demands of the job, the ability to be flexible and balance weekly work hours is essential.
·         This position requires evening and weekend work. Wednesday evening and weekend availability is required for this position.  Summer programing will be offered Monday thru Friday for 4 hours during the day.
·         Successfully complete courses (funded by the employer): ASSIST and Non Violent Crisis Intervention. 
·         Social Architects and Occasio volunteers.
·         Criminal Record Check
·         Vulnerable Person Check
·         Intervention Record Check
·         Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
