Family Centre has a strong reputation for providing quality services basing our
work on research and evidence based practices. We pride ourselves on providing
leading edge training and strong, reflective supervision. Our intention is to
create a healthy organization that is intelligent in its response to community
issues and intentional about our respectful treatment of each other. We have a
strong focus on Trauma Informed Care for the communities we support, as well as
our staff teams. The Family Centre strives to hire a diverse team of employees,
reflecting the diverse communities we support.
The Family Centre exists to support families and children to help them flourish and to help people engage with one another in order to promote healthy, safe, and economically viable communities.
Healthy families in healthy communities.
The Family Centre believes that, with the right opportunities and tools, people can make choices that lead to success. For over 75 years, we have been helping Alberta families, communities, institutions and workplaces make positive choices that lead to successful outcomes. We work to strengthen family wellness and build community capacity through innovative services and collaborative partnerships to engage our most vulnerable families in caring for our children. As an agency driven by innovation, we are a place for learning and growth for staff and students. The Family Centre coordinates a practicum program for students in a Master’s in Counseling program, or equivalent, and provide them with the opportunity to work with diverse clientele both at the agency, and in the community. The Family Centre uses a Two Generation approach to guide all our services, and we strive to serve children and their caregivers together to harness the family’s full potential and to put the entire family on a path to long term health and wellness.
