Vecova is a leading edge registered non-profit charitable service and research organization that has been meeting the needs of persons with disabilities and the community-at-large since 1969. We are a recognized leader in the Community Disability Services sector and are an affiliate institute of the University of Calgary. We provide a wide range of supports and services (e.g. Living Supports Services; Employment and Enterprise Services; and Wellness Services) in Calgary and the Bow Valley Corridor for persons with disabilities so they may reach their fullest potential and benefit from the highest possible quality of life.

Vecova has a bold vision for the future and is looking for a Director of Living Support Services to join us and support the growth of the organization. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Living Support Services is responsible for providing leadership and operational direction to our Living Support Services area. This includes programs for persons with a disability to live as independently as possible in the community with a variety of support levels and living models.

As Director of Living Support Services you will lead with purpose, guiding and motivating with a compelling vision:

  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality living support for our clients.
  • Contribute to the strategic plan and achievement of outcomes in collaboration with other senior leaders.
  • Facilitate strategic growth of area including development of business cases or partnerships.
  • Enhance financial stability of the area through the diversification of funding sources and services offered. 
  • Focus area on operational efficiency, client outcomes, effective resource management and effective internal and external communication.
  • Monitor and promote risk management practices.
  • Ensure all area operations are in compliance with legislative requirements and contractual obligations. 

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a successful background in services to vulnerable individuals and/or non-profit leadership. This includes a degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Health, or Business with 5 or more years of managerial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A proven track record of managing operations and successful business practices.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
