The Manager reports directly to the Operations Director of the George Spady Centre Society and provides direct day to day management of the Spady Clinical Access Team. This front line leadership position ensures services are aligned with the key strategies and housing first project goals as well as those of the host and funding organizations. Services are monitored by the Manager on an on-going basis for quality assurance purposes and compliance. The Manager is responsible for the supervision of all staff, and adheres to ethical standards in all activities relating to this job description.
This position will monitor the budget in conjunction with the Operations Director. They will act as the active liaison with community partners in clinical and housing first fields on an ongoing basis for the purpose of advancing the Spady CAT program in the community. The Manager will also prepare a monthly narrative and statistical report to the Operations Director and to Homeward Trust.
This position will provide supervision of front line staff regarding the provision of client services, and will ensure that the staff and program are compliant with Accreditation Standards and maintain best practices. They will manage staff scheduling and assignment, while coordinating client case reviews. Additionally, the Manager will ensure assessment of client eligibility and staff data base reporting.
The Manager will recruit, interview and select staff as required. They will encourage and support staff in ongoing training and development. They will be responsible for preparing and reviewing job descriptions for all staff, and providing ongoing evaluations of the team members. They will review staff time sheets, as well as approve staff leaves and vacation requests. The Manager will hold regular staff meetings to ensure that good communication and morale is maintained on the team.
This position requires a Master’s degree in a related human services field preferred plus 2 to 3 years of direct management or supervisory experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related human services field and 3 to 5 years of direct program and staff management experience. Knowledge of housing first programs, addictions, mental health services, social and medical programs and services available in the Edmonton area. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to mentor staff from diverse backgrounds and specializations. A willingness to try new ideas. Excellent computer literacy skills.
