<p>Youth Housing Program (YHP) offers safe, supportive housing for youth experiencing addictions and homelessness. As a member of YHP team, your primary responsibility will be to act as the first point of contact for program inquiries and placements.</p> <p>The Youth Intake Worker is primarily responsible for answering the referral line, assessing youth suitability and for the placement of youth within the program. The intake worker is responsible for linking youth with additional supports and referrals for those youth who we are unable to place within the program. Our work is youth focused, based on the principles of harm reduction, resiliency, and trauma -informed and solution focused practice.<br></p> <p><b>Hours</b><b>:</b> Full-time: 40 hours per week: Monday to Friday<br></p> <p><b>Why Join Our Team</b><b>       </b><br></p> <ul><li>Build relationships and connect people to the work we do.</li><li>Engage with individuals in meaningful opportunities, which positively impact those we serve.</li><li>Be a part of a supportive team, dedicated to professional and personal growth.</li></ul> <p> <b>In Your Role You Will</b></p> <ul><li>Respond to all placement inquires for the Youth Housing Programs</li><li>Screen youth to see if immediate crisis response is required</li><li>Complete youth referral assessment</li><li>Facilitate successful integration in the program.</li><li>Develop strong relationships with referring organizations/individuals.</li><li>Engage in crisis intervention, case management and safety planning as necessary</li><li>Establish and maintain a network of community organizations such as placement unit and caseworkers</li></ul> <p> <b>Education and Certifications</b></p> <ul><li>Degree/diploma  in the Human Services</li><li>Standard First Aid, Suicide Intervention Training, Medication Administration, De-escalation, High Risk Youth, Harm Reduction and Aboriginal Awareness Training,</li><li>Must provide Police Information Check (including vulnerable sector) and Child Intervention Check.</li><li>Reliable, registered vehicle, driver’s license, a recent driver’s abstract and valid insurance including two million dollar liability coverage.</li></ul> <p><b>Experience</b></p> <ul><li>Minimum four years working in the human services field (work with marginalized children or youth is an asset).</li><li>Previous experience conducting  intakes, assessments and/or placement coordination</li><li>Working knowledge and experience with harm reduction, resiliency, trauma -informed and solution focused practice.</li><li>Ability to assess and evaluate placement dynamics and make placement decisions using best practice.</li><li>Ability to address, de-escalate and problem solve with individuals under the influence, under extreme stress and/or struggling with mental health crisis.</li><li>Understanding and ability to respond to multiple, complex  barriers faced by high risk youth</li></ul> <p> <b>Competencies</b></p> <ul><li>Strong interpersonal, non-judgmental, empathetic, flexible and ability to work with initiative and independence</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul> <p><b>Apply</b></p> <ul><li>Email: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank">hr@e4calberta.org</a></li><li><span>Website: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.e4calberta.org/">www.e4calberta.org</a>  </span></li> </ul> <p><b>Thank you to all those apply.
