I give back to Edmonton because I think it’s very important to strengthen communities – not just for those in need, but for everyone, everybody can play a strong part in the community. I do it because I’m new to the city; it’s a great way to meet people, learn about what’s happening in and around the city and to keep in touch. Volunteerism helps people feel good, feel positive about what they do. Canada is such a giving nation; the effort from volunteers is very passionate. Recognizing volunteers as we celebrate the nation’s 150^th anniversary is a fantastic way to honour the country!
